Consent Mode

In GTM assistant app Shopify's default consent mode is used is handling user permissions for tracking and cookies automatically.

Shopify provides a built-in option for merchants to handle consent for cookies. By default:

Essential Cookies:

Shopify always uses essential cookies that are necessary for the proper functioning of the site (e.g., for shopping carts and login sessions). Consent is not required for these cookies, as they are strictly necessary for the operation of the store.

Non-Essential Cookies:

For non-essential cookies, such as those used for analytics (e.g., Google Analytics), marketing, or personalized advertising, Shopify allows merchants to set up a cookie consent banner. This banner requests the user's consent before these cookies are loaded, adhering to privacy laws.
